Whale Watching - Victoria BC Whale Watching - Orca Whales - Whale Watching Tours
Guestbook Page

One of south Vancouver Island's most exciting experiences is a tour to see its most famous residents; the orcas - better known as "killer whales". About 120 of these glossy, black and white marine mammals live in the waters surrounding Victoria. Often seen in the bay in front of Amoré by the Sea, the orcas generally travel between the Gulf Islands to the north of Victoria, and the ocean off Sooke, to the south of Victoria; passing by every 4 days or so.

Although many orcas live in the area year-round, most travel south during the winter. The best time for whale watching tours is between May and October. As well, other marine animals such as grey whales, porpoises, seals, dolphins, sea lions and a multitude of birds are often seen during the whale watching tours.
